Keep home like home – Hometree

Houses are complex things. Whether it’s building repairs, roofing, electrics or boilers, nothing’s ever easy. It’s your home so it’s super-important, but there’s the dread of it going wrong, the huge expense, and your complete ignorance. Nowhere is this truer than with boilers: the critical beating heart of the house, but that you know nothing about, and which will cost you thousands simply to achieve an equitable temperature.

It’s no surprise, then, that we avoid engaging with the boiler when it goes wrong. When the boiler misbehaves, we call ‘a man’ to fix it. But we know it’s a sticking plaster, and we live with the increasing anxiety that one day it will pack up for good.

One morning, of course, you wake up and it feels different. It’s cold. There’s no hot water. You know it’s the boiler. You try to remember the name of the guy you called last time, and you wait in for him to come. He’s late but you’re in his hands, at his mercy. Fixing it outweighs everything. You don’t know whether what he recommends is right or wrong, whether his work will be any good, whether you’re paying over the odds, or whether he’ll fix it when he said he would. And, when he does, you’re left none the wiser, forever unsure whether you made the right choice.

You feel vulnerable in your own home, completely at the mercy of others.

Hometree understand how it feels. And they offer a more empowering way to look after your boiler and your home. Needing help, they believe, shouldn’t leave you feeling helpless.  The boiler can make you feel a hostage in your own home – vulnerable to the problems it creates and at the mercy of those who can fix it. Hometree empower you to fix it a different way. So your home can feel like your home again.
