London's Home for Making
Background
Here East is 1.2m sq ft of hyper-connected commercial space in East London, occupying the former Olympic Broadcast centre. In 2013 it successfully secured the right to convert these legacy structures into a new commercial hub for East London, exploiting the infrastructure left behind by the games.
The living idea
We positioned Here East as “London’s home for making”, to connect with and embrace a new wave of occupiers big and small, who recognised the opportunities that lay at the overlaps between sectors - education, enterprise, and entrepreneurialism. This idea was infused into the architectural design, the operational model, the go-to-market strategy and lettings’ campaign.
What we made
A digital-first brand platform, launch events and websites, a two-year social brand campaign, marketing suites and lettings campaigns, promotional films and digital signage.
What happened
Here East created the ‘supercampus’ category, and blazed a trail through the traditional property marketing playbook on how to engage directly with it’s occupier audience.
Here East is almost fully let, and has successfully embedded itself in East London tech culture and into its host borough, over-delivering on its section 106 promises, to become the embodiment of the Olympic legacy.
